ASMITA MARWA`S RESORT ROMANCE AND STYLE !

It is a collection that is inspired by the 60s and 70s Woodstock era of fashion when freedom, peace and music expression defined the lives of people. For designer Asmita Marwa her “La Vie En Rose” line is perfect resort holiday wear for men and women.

“I see life through rose tinted glasses so using the colours of the 60s and 70s there is a kaleidoscope of bright hues with lots of deep tones for both the men's and women's creations. This time it is silk that I am concentrating on tough usually I do a lot of cotton. The styling is very simple and classic with an emphasis on batik that makes a style statement. There are a couple of saris that are draped differently, but mostly it is western wear with an Indian touch which is not dressy but the prints and batiks are very interesting. The size of the motifs is large and the way they merge with the colour tones makes all the difference.”

Asmita has fairly structured silhouettes but there is a lot of fluidity in the cropped pants, tunics, shirts and she has added a few feathers for collars that create the hippy chic era look. Men's shirts follow the batik story in pink, blue and green with lots of black. The detailing is restricted to raw edges which appear for collars and hemlines and the interesting addition is press buttons, which are the highlight of the collection. “I have not used any button holes for any garments though there is a lot of pleating, pin tucks, one-shoulder or off-shoulder silhouettes which look great for resort wear.”

For some romantic beautiful creations that will appeal to both men and women then Asmita Marwa has the best offering.

Australian pop sensation Aiysha Saagar reveals her tattoos !

Australian Pop Star Aiysha Saagar has two tattoos on her body. A barbed wire around her left wrist and a black Panther in a crouching attack position on the right side of her lower back/hip. When asked about the tattoos she replied "My tattoos each symbolise something to me, after all they will remain with me forever.

My barbed wire tattoo represents all the hurdles and challenges that I have had to face on my journey as an artist.  It is to remind me of who I am and where I came from as I do not want to lose sight of this while I grow as an artist, so that I remain grounded.

My Panther represents my love for wild life, in particular panthers.  They are beautiful, sensual and very sexy.  I also relate to these animals as they appear to be mysterious and reserved, which is what my personality is like when I am off-stage, as on stage I become a roaring Tigeress (my alter-ego).  I love the way these tattoos make me feel and is a way to express my thoughts and beliefs on a personal canvas.  "It is truely liberating."

Seven Islands International Film Festival provides an exclusive platform for auteur’s cinema in India !

Mumbai October 27, 2012: The Seven Islands International Film festival set the ball rolling with the ‘India Premier’ of the critically acclaimed movie ‘Berlin Telegraph’ by Leila Albayaty an Iraqi-French singer-songwriter and filmmaker. The film festival also witnessed overwhelming support from the stalwarts of the Indian Cinema, who supported the festival for providing a strong platform for auteur’s cinema in India. The festival was inaugurated by Dibaker Banerjee and Kalki Koechlin by lighting a ceremonial lamp.
Seven Islands International Film Festival will preview 50 movies across 18 countries, a platform created to celebrate World Cinema. The festival aims at bringing together global radical filmmakers with new cinematic approaches that break through the clutter of traditional filmmaking and create an audience for such movies.
Speaking on the inauguration Mr Dibaker Banerjee commented “I am extremely encouraged looking at the response such a platform has created for ‘auteurs cinema’. Audiences today are willing to pay attention towards experimental movies, however the multiplex culture in India doesn’t allow director to present such movies in front of the audiences. In such environment it is the film festivals that can make a difference in showcasing these movies through their platform. He further added we have already filed a petition with the government of India to grant 200 crores from the grant allotted for archiving 100years Indian cinema to encourage directors to focus on making ‘auters cinema’ that not only entertainment the audiences but also provides a strong socio economical message.”
Speaking on the occasion Kalki Koechlin said “I am happy to see a film festival promote a strong theme ‘Women against all odds’, as this will help women become more aware of the inherent strength that they possess. I congratulate Seven Islands Film Festival for taking up such a relevant theme and wish them the best for their future”.
In addition Ms Sakshi Ojha, Festival Director, Seven Islands International Film Festival said, “We are over whelmed by the support we have received both by the film fraternity and the audiences, I am sure the next few days would be equally exciting and will showcase movies that are sure to enthrall the audiences. The film festival will also create a platform for discussions and seminars around its theme on women and encourage emerging talents through musical performances and regional dance shows, providing a platform for a panoramic showcase of cultural talent in fields such as music, dance and the arts”.
A ‘touring festival’, Seven Islands International Film festival aims at creating a platform where different communities and students come together to watch, deliberate and discuss independent cinema. Launched at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, the Festival aims to bring together global radical filmmakers with new cinematic approaches that break through the clutter of traditional filmmaking.
The theme of the festival will change each year, depending on the broader socio-political happenings around the world.
About Seven Islands International Film festival
Seven Islands International Film Festival is a celebration of global auteurs in cinema that use film as an artistic language, defining it with their own aesthetics and idiosyncrasies. It will showcase international and national films, with a special focus on regional films.

Seven Islands International Film Festival is a non-commercial, annual touring festival that was launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2012.
The theme of this year’s festival is Women Rising, Against All Odds and is an ode to women across the world and a celebration of their unique and remarkable achievements.

Vikram Bhatt turns lyricist for 1920: Evil Returns !

Aftab Shivdasani who plays a poet in the horror 1920-Evil Returns, will be mouthing poetry penned by none other than the film’s producer Vikram Bhatt, who is quite the closet poet.
While the producer-director had toyed with the idea of publishing a book on his poems ,he was very keen on using excerpts in the film, especially since the lead plays the character of a poet.
Originally penned in English, the lines have been translated by writer Sanjay Masoom in Hindi to fit into the film’s context.
Says a source “Vikram Bhatt has donned the hat of a writer for several films and writing has been a huge passion of his.He even has a collection of poems he has penned ,accounts of his personal experience.A few excerpts from them have been used in the film since they perfectly fit the situations in the movie.”
Talking about how the sequel will be entirely different from the first film of the franchise says producer Vikram Bhatt “We have seen that when we make sequels, the story should be different, actors should be different. Nothing should be similar except the name. Since we make such films here, we have continued with that trend. 1920: Evil Returns has nothing to do with the first part and it’s a totally unique film,”.
