Two prominent names in the Marathi Film Industry, INDIAN MAGIC EYE MOTIONS PICTURES and ARBHAAT NIRMITEE
are joining hands in an attempt to start a fresh new innings in the
production of good Marathi films. This was announced by Shrirang
Godbole, Managing Director, Indian Magic Eye Motions Pictures during a
Press Conference held in the city today. Noted
film personalities and founders of ‘Arbhaat’, Umesh and Girish
Kulkarni, Abhay Gadgil and Hrishikesh Deshpande, Directors of Indian
Magic Eye Motions Pictures were also present on the occasion.
The
first joint production of these two eminent production houses ‘Pune –
52’ was also announced on the occasion. ‘Pune – 52’ is a story of a
private detective set on the backdrop of early 90s in the city of Pune.
The
film is being produced under the banner of Indian Magic Eye Motion
Pictures and is being directed by Mumbai based Writer – Director Nikhil
Mahajan, who is a distinguished alumnus of Australia’s famous Sydney
Film School.
Apart
from the impressive star cast of the film, which includes Girish
Kulkarni, Sonali Kulkarni, Sai Tamhankar, Bharti Achrekar, Kiran
Karmarkar and Swanand Kirkire in a special appearance, ‘Pune – 52’ also
boosts of participation of some big international names. For example the
background and the theme music of the film has been given by Korean
Music Director Hyun Jung Shin, who has given music to critically
acclaimed film ‘Old Boy’, whereas the responsibility of Director of
Photography was on the able shoulders of Jeremy Reagan from New
Zealand.
The
first phase of the production of this movie is complete and the film is
currently in the post production process. The release date of the film
has been set as 12-12-12.

It is a film production house based in Pune and Mumbai headed by noted
Theatre, Film and TV personality Shrirang Godbole. Well known
businessman Abhay Gadgil and few eminent personalities from the field
are also on the board of Directors of the company.
A
sister concern of media house Indian Magic Eye, a Pune based media
house, which was the executive producer of Harishchandrachi Factory, a
film on Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of India Cinema. The film was
nominated for Oscar.
The
first venture of IME Motion Pictures was the recent hit 'Chintoo', the
first instance in the industry where a cartoon comic strip was
transformed into a full length live action movie. It has also
co-produced the National Award winning film 'Champions'. Two more
productions of the company are in the pipeline.

Arbhaat Nirmitee is a production company formed by Girish Kulkarni and
Umesh Kulkarni with an aim to produce cutting edge films of
International standards, primarily in the Marathi language.
Umesh
Kulkarni, a graduate of Film and TV institute of India, and Girish
Kulkarni is an award winning writer –director who has to his credit four
successful Marathi films including Valu, Vihir, Deool and Masala. Out
of these four films three are directed by Umesh himself.
