Blenders Pride Punjab International Fashion Week season 3 witnessed 10 designers coming together to set new trends in fashion and business in the fashion hub of Punjab. BPPIFW
endeavors to promote, support and nurture an enigmatic list of budding
designers along with collections of established designers who have shown
on Indian as well as international runways and have made a mark or
created a spark in the industry. For this season, BPPIFW also features 4 Punjab based designers. The hospitality partner for the BPPIFW is Aveda Hotels, Ludhiana.
The grand opening of the fashion week was done by Designer Jattinn Kochhar's collection and Shibani Kashyap's electrifying singing. Jattinn was supported by sensuous starlet as his showstopper – Simrankaur Mundi.
He presented his collection ‘Love Song’. The collection is
an amalgamation of all the emotions, reflexes, feelings, jubilation,
triumphs, as well somber and sad thoughts that a love song can evoke.
The
second day of the most awaited fashion week in Ludhiana saw designer Hari
Anand, Shravan Kumar and Ramesh Dembla. Hari’s collection ‘Globe Traveler’
showcases a look that combines technical performance fabrics with practical
fabrics and details. The global traveler is very simple but elegant and boasts
of relaxed fittings. Miss Mauritius Anais Veerapatren was the showstopper for Hari Anand.
Shravan
Kumar, a true fashionistas with an unparalleled command on trends and styles,
presented his ‘videsi ho gayi – desi abi baki hai’ collection. The collection
showcases Indian weaves which epitomize Indian aura and an ode to the weavers
of India. Model Farah Hussain - Miss India (Beautiful Legs) 2012 featured as the showstopper.
Ramesh
Dembla’s clothes speak of opulence and grandeur although his USP lies in the
fact that these clothes are a big hit off the ramp as well. His collection
‘Dawn To Dusk’ is an attempt to recreate the splendor in the skies through a
fine ensemble of Indian and Western haute couture. Actress Model Sonia Gill featured
as the showstopper.
Rose
Creations headed by fashion designer Sulakshana Monga has become the epitome of
classic fashion with such a product line that it makes all wonder who the woman
behind the label is. Inspired by a desire to bring out an individual’s deep
intrinsic beauty, the finest fabrics and trims are researched and selected,
with each garment being constructed by
hand… always with a respect for old world craftsmanship and a passion for
exoticism.
Excellent
craftsmanship and high attention to detailing define the brand Libas by
designer’s par excellence Riyaz & Reshma Gangji. Creating impeccably
flawless garments with perfect cuts is an art which Riyaz is well versed in. ‘The
Truth Collection’ is a wedding couture showcase by the designers. The
collection is a depiction of fashion being re-invented in the form of a
heritage collection. Leading Punjabi actress Jonita Doda walked the ramp.
Between
the idea and reality, between the motion and the act; lie the will to succeed
and excel. It is the same that has driven designer duo Mona Lamba and Pali
Sachdev. Mona and Pali share a home and a cause: Designing. Hitting the catwalk
more than two decades ago, the designer sisters have helped etch India on the
international fashion map. This season Monapali presents an eclectic collection
as hand crafted embroidered motifs in Kantha offset by block printing come to
life in a blend of Indo-western and Indian silhouettes. A riot of vibrant
colours comes into play flirting with a mélange of muted hues. ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’s’
original ‘womenia’ – HUMA QUERESHI
will be the showstopper of the show.
Sonu
Gandhi was in the most recent edition of Femina called the Fashion Diva of
Punjab. She is presenting her collection this
year in vibrant colors, cuts and styles keeping in mind the tradition of
Punjab. Her wearable classy collection speaks of subtleness, simplicity and
innovation. Punjabi Munda Jasvinder Bhalla & Nazia Hussain were the show stoppers.
Couturier
Archana Kochhar has been showcasing her creation on Indian as well as
International runways for the last decade. Traditional yet modern, Archana’s collections spell
sheer uber chic. Archana Kochhar will be presenting two collections. The first
is ARCHANA KOCHHAR for COPPERSTONE where her collection for Men is aptly
christened “Dashmen” This will be followed by an exclusive ARCHANA KOCHHAR
signature collection for women - “RETRO METRIC”. The collection radiates an
undeniably youthful flair and yet remains timeless and bold. Each creation is
interjected with a retro feel to it and every piece is ingeniously directed to
revive the 1980’s print in modern form. Zeenat Aman walks the ramp for the Grand
Finale.
